A big kid room for a 9 year old!

G requested a big kid room for his 9th birthday, so in our spare time (that was a joke), we managed to make it happen. A new desk with more storage, a bigger bed and a new configuration and the room looks great! He can lay in bed and watch a movie or play his video games, do homework at his desk, or just hang out... and his room has managed to stay relatively clean! Friday is the official day but we got the room done a week early so he can enjoy it. He spends lots more time up there and seems to be sleeping much better as well on the new bed. Got a heck of a deal on a mattress and apparently it does matter for kids. The stars nightlights came down and he now has a spaceship lava lamp as his night light. I am loving the fact that I can actually go in and check on him late at night. Before with the loft bed, I had to assume if he wasn't on the floor he was ok! lol... We go in and check on him and sit and stare at the lava lamp. They are the coolest.
