Enough for now... well...
Enough work in the yard and in our own house for now. We have a new project! One year ago we weren't sure if our son was going to have a school to attend as his Christian school was closing and there was no other in town. Somehow, we managed to get the school moved and up and running. A handful of families came together and made it work. Our sons worked hard and assisted in the efforts the best they knew how by scrubbing desks and putting books up on shelves. I can remember being so proud of them last summer. Last summer... it pales in comparison to the work they have been doing this summer. With the preschool closing and the church wanting to have the rooms restored to their original intended uses, we got to work making plans to convert the three preschool classrooms and common area to the kids new school area. Karate for G is Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8pm and now, every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 until whenever... we are working at the school with our contractor friend and his family, the same family we worked so hard with last year. Two days into demo in 90+ degree weather and no AC, we have been demolishing the rooms, taking out and breaking cabinets, taking down walls and studs and such. Drywall dust everywhere. I have learned to do things that even I hadn't attempted in all the DIY projects we have taken on in our own home. My husband has done that work, not me. Well, I have now... and G too! We let the two boys take down the office wall, ALONE. They literally took out the studs themselves with sledge hammers. The one G is holding there weighs 16lbs and he was swinging it around like it was nothing. I was a worried mom and used the excuse of needing to take pictures to keep tabs on them but they were having the time of their lives.
